Spiritual energy has been a cornerstone of my artwork since the mid-’60’s when I was first drawn into the raw, elemental realism of Georges Rouault’s paintings. I have given way to greater abstraction, greater interest in colour and my spiritual horizons have broadened yet he is an artist to whom I return even to the present day.
